This Saturday, August 25, 2018, something special will happen at Lakewood Church! The Champions Club will host her very first Superhero Walk and Roll: Resource & Job Fair. Here are 5 reasons why you don’t want to miss this event.

1. Superhero Family Fun!
The Champions Superhero Walk and Roll Resource & Job Fair is an event for the whole family! Kids are encouraged to come dressed up as their favorite Superhero while jumping up and down our inflatables or getting a snack from one of the food trucks. All our Superheroes, their families and their supporters will walk a symbolic walk to raise awareness for special needs in the Greater Houston Area.

2. Job Fair
You’ll have a chance to meet employers who are ready to hire teens  and adults with special needs and disabilities. Did you know that only 17.9% of people with disabilities are employed, compared with 65% of people without a disability? And 35% of Young Adults with autism have never had a job or received postgraduate education after leaving high school. Hopefully, this job fair will change the lives of some of our Champions!

3. Resource Fair
We know it can be a challenge to find    the best care for your loved ones with additional needs. Instead of having  to search all over to find the best resources, we bring them all under one roof. Meet dozens of organizations who specialize in providing high quality resources to serve you and your family. One of the organzations you’ll be able to meet is Spectrum of Hope. They treat children, adolescents and adults who are diagnosed with language, communication, behavioral and developmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, delays and syndromes. They use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to decrease inappropriate behaviors while increasing functional skills. Their mission is to provide the highest quality ABA therapy and most caring environment to our clients, ensuring achievement of their highest potential and earning, and keeping the trust of their families. And Spectrum of Hope is in-network with most major insurance providers! Make sure to visit their booth at the Resource Fair to find out more.

4. Community
You can live your life alone and isolated, and for many special needs families this seems inevitable. We believe there is power and encouragement in coming together. We want to celebrate you and the entire special needs community of the Greater Houston area! Come and find out you are not alone, find out that there is HOPE and there is HELP!

All our Superheroes, their families and their supporters will walk a symbolic walk to raise awareness for all special needs in the Greater Houston Area.

See you Saturday at 10:00 am at Lakewood Church!
